Life as a single mom

May 25, 2009 by Kristy · 1 Comment

I know it’s been awhile, but I’m back. You know the saying ” When you have a child, Life and your priorities change as well “. It is so true but I wouldn’t change a thing if I could. Being a single mom isn’t always easy. Especially when you’re trying to work, go to school, but at least I have the advantage of  being able to attend school online, but I try to do my work when my little man is at school or after I get him down for the night. A mother’s job doesn’t stop, it’s a 24/7 job. So when I hear people that doesn’t have children or as some guys say ‘ It must be nice to be able to stay at home and not have to go work “. A mother’s job doesn’t ever stop. I  know having my son changed my life for the better. He has helped me in more ways than any or he could ever imagine. When I started this blog and writing my post I was beginning to feel better mentally finally after my separation and my divorce. So I started having the ambition to start writing again. Then I started battling depression again, so I didn’t feel like writing. At the time I was thinking, Why? I didn’t feel like writing and I started losing interest once again. At the moment my son and I are living with my parents. It has some advantages but it can be hard and not to mention frustrating, especially when you’re not able to live on your own like I want to. But trust me I’m working on that and doing te best I can and trying to learn as much as I can so I can start my Web Designing and Development home business so we can be on our own again and be able to make it on make it on our own. I try to keep reminding myself that God doesn’t put more on us than we can bare. Although sometimes I’m like Ok, I have had enough and I can’t do it anymore and usually that’s when you start feeling hope, strength, and begin to feel more positive. I know everything is going to workout somehow. I feel it in my heart and with God and My Son in my life I won’t give up. Everything happens for a reason and your past is what has made you the person you are today. What doesn’t break you, will only make you stronger!

Grow your blog or get one

January 8, 2009 by Kristy · 1 Comment

grow-your-blogBefore I launched ~Twisttafate~ I had already looked at quite a few blogs and I didn’t know where to start exactly. Through the process of looking around I learned some benificial tips. Some people blog for a hobby, some of us freelance, and then there are some of us who blog for advertisement. One of my favorites is Char Polanosky’s blog  www.essentialkeystrokes.com . She is not only a successful blogger but she knows some great and very helpful tips. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without her. She is a great person and she has been in the business for quite some time now. If you already have a blog and even if you don’t, Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make money from home? You just need to take some time and figure out what suites you best. It’s not an overnight process. And there are certain steps that will help your blog get more traffic. If you’re wanting to do it for fun that’s great too but for some people like myself and a few other successful bloggers that I have had a chance to talk to have taught me that one of the  first ential steps to take when you’re wanting to ” Grow Your Blog “. First you have to come up with a domain name. That might not sound important to some people but it is when you use it for a business name and not only that who you are and what you’re blog is going to be about, it represents You! One way to to start profiting from your blog is through Amazon and sign up with Amazon Afilites and you can advertise their books, media, etc. You should also sign up with is Google AdSense too. It isn’t as easy as it sounds, but don’t get discouraged. If you’re new to blogging and interested in learning more contact me and I can give you some pointers along the way! I’m not a pro by any means yet but I’m defintly dedicated to learning as much as I can and I can recommened some great books that will help you along the way. Like I had mentioned in one of my other post I used to like to write and I have always been interested in learning how the whole web development works, So that’s why I’m pursuing school online in Web Development and Design. And in the process blogging has became one of my hobbies and I have grown to love.  ( Photo credit ) by  www.Scribizzy.com

Happy New Year

January 5, 2009 by Kristy · Leave a Comment

I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It’s 2009, a new year which means new beginnings.  A lot of us make resolutions to lose weight, new job, make more money, spending more time with family and friends etc. the list goes on. Sometimes you just have to put yourself first, like me for example. Me and my ex husband separated in December 2005 and since then every Christmas I can’t help but not to think about it. And I will tell you something else. Weither it’s seperation, divorce, a loss of any kind, no matter what it is you might be going through, it takes time for your heart to heal! Growing up I’ve heard from people and even you see it on TV how some people get depressed over the holidays. But now I’m putting myself first and thinking about me and my Son and ” Our Future ” and what is going to make us happy. Being a single mom isn’t easy but at least I know I have nothing holding me back now. Having a blog helps me express my feelings. When I was younger I enjoyed writing but then as time went on I didn’t do it anymore. Now I have the ambition to write again. So now that I’m going to school I have became interested in blogging because I enjoy writing and there are so many advantages . Blogging can either be a hobby, advertisement, or like a journel express your feelings in hope that I too can and will hopefully inspire someone else, and eventually a source of income . So here is to the New Year and new beginnings. I hope the Holiday’s were good to each and everyone of you.

Twisttafate’s Blog

lorelle-with-wordress-blogging-tips~Twisttafate~ is up and going thanks to Char Polanosky with www.EssentialKeystrokes.com . She did a great job and also gave me some great pointers to start off with! I have came across some other great blogs that have turned out to be very successful. Lorelle VanFossen on Wordpress is also another one of my favorite’s.  She knows some great blogging tips that can be very beneficial for you and your blog. You may have a home business, or a stay at home mom and you’re not quite seeing the results you thought you would be by now and you’re just not getting the attention from other readers or the traffic you had hoped for. I was told at the beginning and it’s true, that it doesn’t happen over night. When I decided to invest some money in my blog, Char Polanosky helped guide me along the way. It can be  overwhelming at the beginning because you’re not sure where to start. But when you actually take the time to get online and check out other blogs such as http://problogger.net  which is also one of my favorites and has some insightful tips. If you’re serious about having a successful blog, there are several different ways to get you going. Before I launched ~Twisttafate~ I spoke with several pro bloggers and web developers/designers and I asked them how much they charged to design a blog for me. At first I hesitated, but I’m happy with the choice I made. If you are serious about having a successful blog my first suggestion is for you to put some time aside each week for your blog and try to at least write 2 post a week if not more. Your blog is what you put into it. Talk about what your intrest are or even if you want to write about your personal life and experiences, things you have first hand knowledge about.  So if you want to learn more about what it takes to create a successful blog, I recommend that you read Blogging Tips  by Lorelle VanFossen. You can also checkout her blog site at http://lorelle.wordpress.com/ .
